MAHER SERVICES

Commercial, Industrial & Municipal Well Pump & Motor Repair — Massachusetts & New Hampshire

When a submersible or vertical turbine pump goes down, you need a contractor with the rigs, the licenses, and the crew to pull it, diagnose it, and get water flowing again — often within days, not weeks. Maher Services has kept New England’s municipal and commercial water systems running for nearly a century.

Weekday business hours. Describe the failure — we’ll tell you what it takes to fix it.

The failures we fix

Loss of yield

Well output dropping while demand holds steady usually means a worn impeller, or a fouled screen. We pull the pump, test the well, and restore flow.

Motor failure

Motor won’t start, trips breakers, or shows insulation breakdown on a megohm test? We pull and replace submersible and vertical turbine motors at any horsepower, and we stock and source replacements to compress downtime.

Equipment failure

Falling system pressure with a running pump points to a holed drop pipe or column, or a pump no longer making its curve. We diagnose downhole, not by guesswork at the wellhead, and we replace check valves, column pipe, and broken shafts to get your system back to full pressure.

Short-cycling

A pump that starts and stops rapidly is destroying its own motor and controls. We diagnose the controls issue behind the short-cycling and correct it before it takes the motor with it.

Equipment we service

Pulling and rig capacity

Our fleet includes crane trucks and pump hoists sized for the job — from full municipal turbine pulls to compact Smeal hoist work on sites where a standard heavy rig can’t go (we’ve replaced a pump and motor in the middle of a golf course without leaving tire tracks).

We can pull from most any depth and pump-setting. If your consultant has the well log, we’ll confirm equipment fit before we roll.

Turnaround: a straightforward pull-and-replace can be done in as little as a day or two

We mobilized to a mid-July commercial well failure the day after the call and had the system back at 100% with new downhole components. When you call, we’ll give you a realistic timeline based on your equipment, depth, and parts availability — not a promise we can’t keep.
